There are many legacy family names that are a part of the fabric of Des Moines. Look around the city, and you will see their names on businesses, parks, buildings and streets. All played, or still play, a major role in the growth of Des Moines. It is our hope, after being a good corporate citizen for 150 years and touching so many lives in our community, that the Kurtz name has earned the right to be included on the list of legacy family names in Des Moines, Iowa.
